Sponsored by the St. Ignace Saints Semi-Pro Hockey Team and hosted by local former competitive figure skater Liz O'Boyle, Edge U.P. Power Skating was created with one goal in mind: to bridge the gap between figure skating and hockey while helping athletes become stronger, more confident skaters.
By combining the technical precision of figure skating with the speed and demands of hockey, players develop stronger edges, better balance, stability, power, and overall skating efficiency. Our clinic goes beyond teaching skating skills by educating athletes on why power skating is so important and how proper skating mechanics directly impact speed, agility, balance, puck control, and overall game performance. When players understand the "why" behind their training, they become smarter, more confident athletes.
Through on-ice instruction, dryland training, and education in nutrition, hydration, and athletic performance, our goal is to give every player the tools, knowledge, and confidence to continue improving long after the clinic ends. Goalies are strongly encouraged to participate, as elite edge control, balance, and skating efficiency are just as important in the crease as they are for skaters.
At Edge U.P. Power Skating, we're committed to developing players, supporting our hockey community, and investing in the future of youth hockey throughout the Upper Peninsula and Northern Michigan.
